Baker Automation has been established for over 27 years and UKELO has been developed over the last 10 years. The            purpose of the division is that UKELO deals with new developments, product design and intellectual property rights while Baker Automation continues to provide proven electronic control technology to Industry.

Ukelo has developed many new products which have either been sold to third parties or retained for use by Baker Automation. Many developments have obtained international patent/copy-right protection and many represent the sole product of successful third party companies. This gives us great pleasure and provides us with funds to continue more adventurous developments.

Very few of our major developments can be shown on this site due to confidentiality agreements with our customers or sponsors but those that are shown are representative.

Since we work hard to maintain on-going relationships with our customers and suppliers we have encouraged business in both directions. Many of our suppliers are customers and many of our customers are suppliers! This has become a vital part of this business because we can now call upon a vast range of expertise in electrical, electronic, mechanical engineering and computer software with the same commitment to us as we have shown to them. The benefit to our customers is that we can provide big company results with small company personal service.

Because many of our projects have been international (China, US, Sri-Lanka, Holland, Dominican Republic, Spain, Italy, etc.) we have brought many companies in these countries into our inter-trading group. This allows us to undertake work in these countries with ready made assistance and goodwill. It makes a big difference!

We have a working knowledge of German, French, Spanish and Italian languages which allows us to undertake European work with confidence and efficiency and also to use our contacts in Europe in the same way.

Your first contact with Ukelo or Baker Automation will always be with me, John Baker. I am motivated to ensure that my technical knowledge is always complete. I initially studied electronic engineering but took a further degree in Physics as my interests widened and the business developed. In order to keep completely up-to-date I maintain a continuous study schedule. For instance I am at present completing an MSc in ASIC design. This keeps the business ahead technically but is also a great pleasure to me!

Ideas come easier when you enjoy the work and they come even easier when you listen to customers views carefully. I do that!

My plan, as always, is to develop and manufacture quality products using original techniques that benefit my business and my customers.
